Mark Logic in Evaluation for Common Criteria Certification for Computer Security

SAN CARLOS, CA — April 14, 2008 — Mark Logic® Corporation, provider of the industry’s leading XML content platform, today announced that the U.S. Government National Information Assurance Partnership (NIAP) has officially admitted MarkLogic Server into the evaluation phase for Common Criteria certification.

Mark Logic is working to prove that MarkLogic Server meets the common criteria for security certification against the U. S. government-approved database management system (DBMS) protection profile, and is publicly listed on the NIAP website “in evaluation” list: http://www.niap-ccevs.org/cc-scheme/in_evaluation.cfm.

“Reaching the evaluation phase of the Common Criteria security certification is a significant milestone for us,” said Christopher Lindblad, founder and chief architect at Mark Logic Corporation. “As we continue to see strong demand for MarkLogic Server to support XML content applications in the federal market, we are committed to delivering software that meets the rigorous security standards that these customers require.”

The National Information Assurance Partnership (NIAP) is a U.S. Government initiative between the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) and the National Security Agency. The Common Criteria for Information Technology Security Evaluation is an international standard for computer security, where user communities set forth security requirements, vendors describe the security attributes of their products, and an independent testing lab validates the products against the requirements. Additional information about Common Criteria can be found at http://www.commoncriteriaportal.org/ and more information about the NIAP Common Criteria program can be found at http://www.niap-ccevs.org/cc-scheme/.
